If anyone watched Sunday’s Mad Men, Vincent Kartheiser’s character Pete Campbell is incensed over the spotlighting of a rival firm in the Sunday edition of the NY Times Magazine.
That unnamed firm through some cyber diggin was actually Wells Rich Greene, one of the most innovative ad agencies of its time.
A maven for cutting edge campaigns during its heyday, it’s most famously responsible for crafting the official “I LOVE NY” slogan during the 1970s.
